About The Conference of Provinces 2024


The Government of India has been actively addressing climate change through numerous programs and policies. Building on these efforts, the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, in partnership with the Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh, is pleased to announce the National Climate Conclave: Conference of Provinces. This event will be held on 28th & 29th November 2024 at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.

The event is a key component of India’s ongoing efforts to address climate change and its impacts. It will bring together a diverse group of participants, including government officials, researchers, academics, and experts from both national and international organizations, with the goal of fostering collaboration and advancing climate action. Representatives from UN agencies, bilateral organizations, and embassies will also take part in the discussions. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, along with the Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India,will inaugurate the conclave.

The Conference of Provinces 2024 will transform cutting-edge research into practical frameworks, equipping policymakers with predictive insights on climate change and actionable support for interventions. These frameworks enable policymakers to explore different scenarios, refine their understanding of climate dynamics, and make data-driven decisions. The conclave underscores the critical role of continuous knowledge exchange in applying innovative research to climate policy, enhancing both regional and national efforts for climate adaptation and mitigation. It reaffirms the commitment to strengthening research-policy synergies, ensuring India stays on course to achieve its climate goals under the Paris Agreement.
